Consider the Source
"One of them, when he realized that he was healed, turned around and came back, shouting his gratitude, glorifying God. He kneeled at Jesus's feet, so grateful. He couldn't thank him enough -and he was a Samaritan."
Luke 17:15-16 (The Msg.)
Are we more thankful for the blessings or the Source of our blessings? I want to be sure to revel in the Source of all blessings, Jesus Christ, how about you?
The social outcasts in Jesus' day were the lepers. You know the story, ten cried out for mercy. Even though Jews usually shunned Samaritans, only one (of ten), a Samaritan, returned to the Source of his healing and blessing to give great thanks. The other nine chose to celebrate the blessing and neglected to give thanks to their Source...ouch! By the grace of God, I want to be the one in this story.
This Thanksgiving, let's be sure to Consider the Source and give great thanks to our Redeemer, Deliverer, Sustainer, and Source of all thanks, praise and blessings.
