"You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word."
Psalm 119:114 (MEV)
Eugene Peterson, in The Message, unpacks the verse this way: "You're my place of quiet retreat."
The NLT translates the second part of the verse saying: "Your word is my source of hope." Would you like a quiet retreat with your source of hope?
Samuel Johnson, a devout Anglican and English writer from the 1700s, penned concerning God's wonderful promises, "The future is as bright as the promises of God." We need to step out of the craziness of life to recalibrate and embrace His promises.
These promises aren't revealed in the USA today or on the Internet. They are found in God's love letter to us, his manual for life...His word!
Just as God commanded Joshua to be faithful to His word, He calls us to do the same.
"Study this book of instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do." Joshua 1:8 (NLT)
The Game Plan for Life, the Owner's Manual, and the Source of Hope ...let's read, meditate, and quickly obey His Word!
Let's get at it!
