One of the Few
How many observe Christ's birthday! How few, his precepts! O! 'tis easier to keep holidays than commandments. - Benjamin Franklin
"The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it." - Isaiah 55:10-11 (NLT)
Are we allowing God's word to drive our lives? Influence our decisions? Impact our families and friends? Any and maybe all of us might say, "Amen! Yes! Of course we do!" Well, so do I. However, upon further examination, I have found those facts to be suspect in some of my daily dealings. How about you guys? Y'all?
Here's a thought. How about doing some "further examinations" during this Christmas season? What a great time to re-visit this discipline.
"The good can be the enemy of the best."
It's "good", very good, to celebrate the spirit and reality of Christmas. It's "best" to read His Word and make it a daily discipline to see, hear, and obey God's love letter to us all. He sent us His Word so that we might accomplish great things!
One of the few...with you!
