"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." Isaiah 26:3
Do our thoughts turn often to the Lord? That's the Living Bible's paraphrase that leads to a great question. We all must answer.
The distractions we all face that drive peace out come in different formats. Chaos, turmoil, strife, and worry, to state a few, knock at all our mind's doors and have the potential to drive us to a dark place.
I love how Paul addresses moving to the mindset of prayer.
"Don't fret or worry, instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries in to prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life." Philippians 4:7-8 (The Message)
When our mind is set on our King, we gain new perspectives that lead to an increased trust in the One that replaces our worries with true peace. Let's purpose to get there and rest there.
